Mark's first experience with
ice sculpting goes back to
1987. As the Executive Sous
Chef for a private club in
southern California, he had
the opportunity to experiment
with this ever changing medium.
The excitement of creating
art from 300 pounds of water
was infectious.
In 1990,
he moved to Phoenix Arizona
and started Ice Sculptures
by Armitage and quickly found
a growing list of clients
who appreciated the personal
attention and unique custom
designs. His experience as
a chef gives him the necessary
skills for artful presentation
under the extraordinary pressure
of handling such a fragile
yet strong material and the
time restraints that melting
ice is known for.
